The battle between a husband and his wife over property has taken a new dimension as the man has dragged the woman and her alleged lover to the dreaded Okija shrine in Anambra State, southeast Nigeria.

The woman, Mrs Blessing Okpoko, who is a regional manager of a new generation bank, reported the latest development to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, who summoned to a meeting over the matter.

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh’s boyfriend,Churchill Olakunle Oladunni has been robbed in what looks like a routine robbery.

A source revealed to ghkwaku.com that, the robbery took place inside last week at one of the residences of Tonto’s boo inside Trassacco estates.It was also revealed that, the robbery took place while Churchill was out of town.

The Police in Lagos on Tuesday arraigned a publisher of a news website, Naijahottestgist.com, before a Federal High Court, Lagos for allegedly publishing a defamatory story against the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Plc. claiming that the bank MD impregnated his bank staff

The accused, Seun Oloketuyi, 39, is standing trial on a two-count charge bordering on defamation.
The Prosecutor, Mr Olakanmi Omisope, told the court that the accused committed the alleged offences sometime in June, in Lagos.

Ekwueme, Clark, others slam President Buhari over biased appointments, anti-graft war

Southern leaders under the auspices of the Southern Nigeria Peoples Assembly (SNP), on Tuesday, ‎slammed President Muhammadu Buhari over what they described as his lopsided appointments and selective fight against corruption.


Speaking at the meeting of the elders council held in Akure, the Ondo state capital, the SNP led by Elder statesman & former Federal Commissioner for Information, Chief Edwin Clark, although expressed support for President Buhari’s fight against corruption, but kicked against being selective.

 The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Anambra has declared a man popularly called ``Uche Baron’’ in Onitsha Main Market wanted for illicit drug dealing.


Mr Sule Momodu, NDLEA’s Commander in the state told newsmen in Awka on Tuesday that the agency on Aug. 20 raided the suspect’s warehouse in the market and recovered cannabis weighing 109.800kg.

Pensioners & Workers Protest Non-Payment of Salaries in Owerri(Photos)







The members of Organised labour and pensioners on Tuesday demonstrated in Owerri over the non-payment of more than 10 months arrears of pensions and salaries owed them by the Imo government.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that scores of pensioners and workers dressed in black dresses had assembled at the entrance of Imo State House of Assembly as early as 7 a.m.
The placard carrying workers and pensioners marched on major streets in Owerri to press for the payment of the arrears of the salaries and allowances owed them.

Some of the placard reads, “Pay 10 months salaries of ITC workers now; Owelle pay retired workers their gratuities and pensions; The Soul of the Dead will not rest until their terminal benefits are paid to their next of kins’’.

Jonathan recruited 1600 into Immigration, not Parradang – NIS Senior Officers




David Parradang: suspended as Comptroller General

Senior officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has reacted to the suspension of Comptroller-General of Immigration, David Shikfu Parradang, by stating that he did not approve the recruitment of 1,600 officers to the Service.

In a statement signed by Comrade S Audu and titled: “A STATEMENT FROM CONCERNED SENIOR IMMIGRATION OFFICERS” they stated that the immediate past president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, constituted a Board that oversaw the recruitment of the officers, noting that, Parradang did not have the powers to approve such recruitment.

  With those words, President Muhammadu Buhari on 13th August cancelled the controversial offshore processing and oil swap deals initiated in January this year by the outgone administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

The agreement was earlier billed to last till December 2016.

President Buhari’s approval is in a bid by the new leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to ensure transparency and due process.

The probe panel set-up to investigate the immediate past administration of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has said it is not out to witch-hunt anyone.

Chairman of the committee, Justice George Omereji said this during his inaugural address to declare the sitting open.

Justice Omereji said the commission would give room for fair hearing to all parties, adding that all parties had the liberty to contract the services of any legal representative of their choice.

The National Judicial Council has issued a query over allegation of amorous scandal against a judge in the Osun State judiciary, Justice Olamide Oloyede, who initiated a petition calling for the removal of the state Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola.

The NJC issued the query dated July 28, 2015 and with reference number, NJC/S.29 HC.OS/16/1/55,
against Justice Oloyede upon a petition by a mother of four, Mrs. Emily Richard-Obire, who accused the judge of cohabiting with her (Richard-Obire’s) husband.
