Former Benue governor, Suswam, arraigned by EFFC; granted N100m bail by federal high court

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to a former governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, but ordered he be held by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, till he fulfils his bail conditions.


Mr. Suswam was arraigned on Tuesday before the court on allegation of corruption.
The former governor and his commissioner for finance, Omadaki Oklobia, are being charged by the EFCC.

Medical graduates without practice license barred from NYSC

The Federal Government has barred graduates of medicine from participating in the National Youth Service Corps, until after securing practice license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

The Registrar/Chief Executive of MDCN, Dr. Abdulmumini Ibrahim, who read the decision during a press briefing on Monday in Abuja, said the council took the measure following series of complaints by the NYSC management that all manners of persons parading themselves as medical doctors had become desperate to proceed on service.
