EXCLUSIVE: Traditional Worshipers To Appease The gods Over Bloodshed In Nigeria



Against the backdrop of incessant bloodshed and killings by religious extremist, coupled with the recent air crash, traditional religion practitioners are planning to organize a special prayer to avert the recurrence of such incidence in the country.


The president of the Association of African Traditional Religion, Nigeria and Overseas(AATREN), Chief Ifasegun Elegushi, said in Lagos that the traditionalists have been neglected by government hence series of calamities in the country.

Elegushi said the body could no more open their eyes and watch such misfortunes befalling Nigerians daily, hence the resolve of members to organize a special prayer by to avert future occurrences.
The Opemoluwa of Ikateland said: “The way things are going in our nation is quite worrisome,” adding that the daily shedding of innocent blood in the country should stop because it is not a good omen for this country.
He decried the neglect of traditional religion practitioners by the government, saying that if the traditionalists were being duly recognized and consulted, they would have proffered solutions to the enormous problem the country is facing.
