Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong'o has been named People magazine's Most Beautiful woman 2014.
She covers the 25th publication of the magazine.
An excited Lupita says its a major compliment;
"she was jazzed to have been named the most beauteous in all the land. “It was exciting and just a major, major compliment,” she said. “I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen.”she said
Nyong’o—who may or may not be starring in the upcoming J.J. Abrams Star Wars sequel—said she had always looked to images on television for standards of beauty—“light skin and long, flowing, straight hair”—and it started to warp her perception of herself: “Subconsciously you start to appreciate those things more than what you possess.” She said her mother, Dorothy, “always said I was beautiful . . . and I finally believed her at some point.”
