A father, Francis Imeh, has been arrested for beating his 12-year-old daughter to death.
Imeh was said to have broken his daughter’s spinal cord at the Oko Addo Community in Eti- Osa East Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.
Imeh has been arrested alongside his wife, who is the step-mother to the deceased girl.
Imeh was said to have killed his little girl by angrily lifting her up into the air and slamming her back on the ground.

After the girl’s spinal cord was broken, her parents had left her lying on the cold, hard floor of their room without food, until she fell sick on the same spot and died.
The victim, Blessing Imeh, was beaten to death for burning a neighbour’s clothes in the community, while playing with her mates.
The late blessing was said to have been playing with a candle light, with her mates in the community when she mistakenly burnt one of their neighbour’s clothes.
It was further gathered that when Blessing’s father returned from work, the incident was reported to him by the victim’s step mother.
Hardly had his wife finished narrating the event of the day to him, than Imeh pounced on his daughter, beating her black and blue.
Apparently not satisfied with the beating he had given her, Imeh lifted the girl up and slammed her back on the ground.
A neighbour in the compound where the incident occurred said: “The father of the girl hit her back on the floor of their house and in the process, broke her spinal cord.
“This made the little girl incapacitated.
“On the night Blessing was beaten, she became paralysed.

“After the beating, the little girl was unable to stand.
“Rather than take her to hospital, the father locked the girl inside their house to avoid drawing attention.
“The little girl was on her back and ill for a week, without proper medical attention after the injury she sustained from the beating.”
The neighbor said that a day before Blessing died, she had crawled out of their house to urinate, but suddenly fell and hit her head on the floor.
The neighbour added: “After she fell down, her body became stiff, as she could no longer talk or walk.
“Her stomach became swollen.”

As fate would have it, some neighbours in the community, who were passing by, saw Blessing lying helplessly on her back girl.
A resident said: “When the pains were becoming too much for the late Blessing, some neighbour went and reported the girl’s predicament to the landlady, who in turned invited the girl’s father and the step mother.
“The landlady warned them, that she does not want to have a corpse in her house.
“While the landlady was warning the Imehs, she did not know that Blessing had died the previous night, on the hard cold floor.”
After the landlady’s warning, Imeh attempted to smuggle the corpse of the girl out at night to bury.
It was also gathered that the man the couple contracted to bury the girl secretly went and reported the matter to the Baale of the Community and got the father and the step mother arrested.
