IRS AIRLINE EMERGENCY LANDING: I Said My Last Prayers, Says Passenger

Kaduna — A passenger who was on board the IRS aircraft that crash-landed in Kaduna yesterday said that he said his last prayers before the plain touched the ground. Usman Dan Malam said there was palpable panic among passengers when they noticed that the aircraft had developed fault.

Hear Him as he narrate the pathetic ordeal he went through:

"We were told that when the pilot pressed the gear, the hydraulic could not supply and the tyres were not out and the plane had to go up again.
"After hovering in the air for sometime the Captain apologised saying that they were encountering hydraulic problem but that everything was under control."

"When the Captain told us they were doing everything possible to ensure a safe landing, another announcement came 10 minutes later that the tyres were not out. At this point, I said my last prayers.
"They had to use other means to bring them out. We faced another challenge again when we were told that they were not rolling. My concern at that time was the family I left at home, but God intervened."

Another passenger, Alhaji Usman Danmallam said, "We were very grateful to Allah for spearing our lives today, because I did not know I will be recounting my experience to you now.
It was a very shocking experience to me and all the other passengers, and I know it will take some of these passengers a very long time before they can fly again."
He commended the pilot of the plane for his approach towards the incident adding that "the pilot tried his best in calming the passengers while the plane was hovering in the air. "He kept us (the passengers) abreast with what was happening with the plane until we finally landed".
