An armed robbery suspect, Aekanmi Najim, who was recently arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), of the Lagos State Police Command, has recounted that he once snatched a bag from a woman thinking it contained loads of cash, only to see that all he had for his troubles were human faeces and dirty underwear.
The 25-year-old suspect who was arrested by the SARS
men on January 28, 2015 at Oshodi, said the operation that landed them
in the police net was not worth the trouble at all.
“In our last operation before we were arrested, we snatched a woman’s bag.
We thought the bag was filled with money and
other valuables, so we decided to close early that day and went home to
share our loot.
We were shocked to find baby faeces and the woman’s pants inside the bag.
We’ve snatched three motorcycles at Sango-Ota, Ogun State. We have also snatched bags and other valuable goods from people.
We usually sell the motorcycles to a man called Baba Ijora at Mushin.
We also have another buyer in Cotonou, Republic
of Benin. We sold the first motorcycle to a man in Cotonou at the rate
of N35,000 while the second and third were sold to Baba Ijora at the
rate of N30,000 and N40, 000.”
