Woman Gives Birth Inside A Keke Napep

A woman gave birth to a baby boy at 1p.m. in Aba, Abia, on Wednesday aboard a tricycle conveying her to the hospital.

An eyewitness, Mrs Chika Onyedikachi, said the woman had gone into labour at home and thereafter boarded a tricycle to convey her to the hospital.

Onyedikachi, a nurse, said that ” the woman’s water broke on the way to the hospital”.

She said that when the vehicle got to Tonimas Junction, Aba, the baby’s head  began to emerge and  the trip to the hospital was halted.

Awesome: Bible Remains Intact After Gas Inferno[PHOTO]

Curious onlookers who thronged Kwahu-Fodoa to witness the massive destruction caused by a gas explosion last Wednesday, January 22, 2014 were struck with awe when a Bible inside a church in the affected area remained intact.


The inferno destroyed most of the items in the Kwahu-Fodoa branch of the New Faith Church International In Ghana but did not touch the 50-year-old Bible.


The Bible laid on top of a table on the altar of the church after a gas tanker crashed into the church and sparked the fire.

  Standing inside a Hindu temple in Chennai, India, I watch horrified as a two-year-old girl with long, dark tresses has her head shaved.

She screams as the clippers buzz around her ears and her hair tumbles to the floor.
She is clearly terrified and no doubt has little comprehension of what is happening to her.
Beside her, her mother is having her head shaved, too.

This is a religious sacrifice: the shaving represents a last-ditch plea to a higher power to save their home from being repossessed.

But to me, it appears to be the ultimate in exploitation.

Their hair is casually tossed into a bin, but it will never actually be thrown away.

Though they do not know it, soon their pigtails and plaits will be sold to hair dealers and then shipped on to the salons of Western Europe.

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have written to the presidents of Nigeria and Uganda, after being asked about laws there penalising gay people.

The letter said homosexual people were loved and valued by God and should not be victimised or diminished.

Nigeria and Uganda have both passed legislation targeting people with same-sex attraction.

The letter is also addressed to all primates (heads of national Churches) in the worldwide Anglican Communion.

The police in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have arrested and charged a dog with biting a bank worker’s penis at  Idowu Anisere Street, off Governor’s Road in Ikotun, Lagos Pm News Reports

The police also charged the owner of the dog, Adebowale Gabriel, 31, before Mrs M.B. Folami at Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court Lagos.

The dog was specifically charged with assault, while Gabriel was charged with negligence under the Criminal Code.

The arrest of the dog and Gabriel followed a complaint by the victim, Mr. Simon Anwam, to the police in Ikotun division that when he was walking on the street, the dog pounced on him and inflicted deep injury on his penis.

A man in Imo is said to have tied his 7 children to a wheelbarrow in a bid to find buyers for them.
44-year-old Israel Dike tied the children’s hands and was on his way to an unknown destination with them when he was intercepted by officials of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

Dike is said to have attributed his actions to his “dwindling economic fortunes” and he also blamed the state Governor, Rochas Okorocha for not fulfilling a promise he made to him.

Police Sergeant Dies Of Alcohol Poisoning

A Police Sergeant, Mr Bonny Iweru, slummed and died on Sunday in Lagos after reportedly taking excessive alcohol, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

A dependable source at the Ebute-Ero Police Division on Lagos Island, where Iweru worked until his death, told NAN) on Wednesday that the incident happened on Sunday.

The source revealed that when a senior police officer found that the sergeant was drunk, he disarmed him.

No fewer than seven persons sustained injuries when members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) clashed with traders at the Old Motor Spare Parts, Mgbuka in the commercial city of Onitsha.

First Bank employees docked for allegedly stealing N6.5 million from customer’s account

Three bank employees and their two accomplices were on Monday arraigned before Chief Magistrate A.O. Awogboro over the theft of N6.5 million from a customer’s account.

They are facing a 12-count charge bordering on stealing, forgery and conspiracy.

The men, Timothy Ibeh, 24; Samuel Dada, 27; Adeyinka Awojobi, 29; Obaseki Ojo, 26, and Simon Abu, 26, were docked at a Tinubu Magistrate Court, Lagos.
The Prosecutor, Chidi Okoye, told the court that the accused committed the offences between October 14, 2013 and November 21, 2013 during work hours at First Bank, Marina, Lagos.

According to doctors, the sextuplets and their mother (names withheld), were all healthy and in stable condition after their birth on Friday.

Two Brothers Die Of Magun After Sleeping With Uncles’ Wives

DETECTIVES of the Oyo State Police Command are battling to unravel the mystery behind the death of two brothers one after the other and an attack on their uncle accused of killing them with  a deadly anti-adultery charm, magun, laced in the bossom of  his wife and that of his brother’s.

The uncle is lying critically ill in a hospital in Ibadan after irate youths attacked him following the death of the second man.

The incident happened at Jagun community near Iyana Ofa, Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State, a serene settlement where people whose lifestyles are closer to nature dwell. Residents are mostly farmers while others engage in one trade or the other. The youth among them are artisans.

Nigerian Sex Trafficking Gang Dismantled

UK and Spanish authorities have dismantled a human trafficking gang responsible for transporting young Nigerian women into prostitution in Europe.

 David Osawaru, from Benin City, Nigeria, was jailed for nine years.

The operation was jointly carried out by the UK’s Home Office Immigration Enforcement, Border Force and the Spanish National Police.

London’s Heathrow Airport was used by the human trafficking gang as a transit hub to move the women to mainland Europe for the purposes of sexual exploitation. Some of the women were under 18.

The British end of the investigation began in 2011 when Border Force officers at Heathrow intercepted a number of females in transit from Nigeria to mainland Europe.

The wedding prayer (Fatiha) was conducted at the Government House, Sokoto.

The ceremony was presided over by Governor Aliyu Wamakko and the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, who was represented by Rilwanu Bello, the Magajin Rafin Sokoto.

Mr. Wamakko said that the gesture was aimed at further reducing the problems associated with the high number of unmarried youths. He urged the new couples to uphold the trust reposed in them by the state government.

An undergraduate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka campus, has been reported to have lost sanity having been engaged in a marathon reading session since resumption of academic activities.

The male student from the Faculty of Engineering, whose name could not be ascertained, was alleged to have lost sanity at about three in the early hours of Tuesday while studying for the second semester examination.
