DIVORCE COURT: Man Divorce Wife For Insulting Landlord

A 31-year-old man, Joseph Idowu, on Thursday divorced his wife, Omolara, for insulting his landlord.

Idowu had filed a suit before an Ikole Customary Court in Ekiti on August 31, seeking the dissolution of his five-year-old “mere association,” which was blessed with two children.

The plaintiff told the court that Omolara insulted his landlord when he was trying to settle a dispute between the couple, and later moved out of his house because she got annoyed for being corrected.

The woman, who denied the allegation, gave her evidence on oath to the effect that she did not insult their landlord.

She accused the plaintiff of conniving with the landlord to sack her by giving flimsy excuses, so that he could get another wife.

Omolara stated that she parked out of her matrimonial home because of her husband’s habit of beating her and to escape being killed.
She, however, consented to the divorce and prayed for the custody of her second child who was a year and nine months old.
The president of the court, Mrs. Yemisi Ojo, dissolved the marriage.
She upheld the prayer of the defendant on the custody of the second child and ordered both parties to be jointly responsible for the care, maintenance, support and education of the second child.
She ordered that the plaintiff should single-handedly cater for the need of the first child in his custody.

Lady Gaga Mourns Dog

Lady Gaga mourns dog

Lady Gaga is said to be devastated, perhaps more, for missing out on saying goodbye to her family’s pet dog before it was buried.

The artiste’s pooch called Alice was put to sleep by a vet after being diagnosed with cancer, but the singer was abroad promoting her new album Artpop when the rest of her family paid their last respect to the dog.

Gaga has taken to twitter to share her memories with fans and reveal her regret at not being there in the dog’s final hours.

“My puppy Alice died. We had to put her down; cancer ate away at a little angel. My daddy is so sad; we all are, lost a member of our family.
“I love being an entertainer but it is so painful sometimes to be away from home. 17 years she held on, so many memories. Nothing beats family.

“I remember her laying my bed; she knew when I was sad, or when I was sick. I should have been there. I just pray Alice found her wonderland.”

How Do I Tell Him I’m No longer Interested In Sex?

Dear Agatha,
Share-a-problem-of...

I met this guy through a friend. We got into the habit of chatting and we got to know each other even though we hadn’t seen physically since he stays in the United States.
Along the line, we developed feelings for each other and after a while, he decided to come to Nigeria to visit me.

When he came, we stayed in a hotel. I was so happy because I really liked him. He also claimed to like me as well. I went through a bad breakup with my ex, and I just want to be careful.  We stayed in the hotel for three days, we made love. He came inside me, so we had to get a contraceptive. I was really scared because I didn’t want to get pregnant. I have planned my life and getting pregnant now is not in the plan. When I got home, I was scared because we still had unprotected sex. I wasn’t too sure I was safe so I got another contraceptive.

CLASSLESS:Selly Of Big Brother Africa Fame Wants You To See Her ‘Black Panties

Selly Underwear1

Apart from the fact that this is totally disgusting, it was also done with no class. Then again, if Selly Galley of Big Brother fame had no shame in ‘banging’ another man on live TV, what makes us think she has heard of the words-morality and decency? The sad part of this is that, her boyfriend was at Juliet Ibrahim’s premiere on Friday with her—where she wore the above dress, putting on display her underwear. And he dare not say a word…

Maybe, we are a bit behind! Tell us, if this is what fashion and class is all about now -

Age Scandal: Iran’s Coach Doubts Eaglets’ Ages

Says they didn’t play like teenagers
The head coach of the Iranian U-17 side, Ali Doustimehr has congratulated the Golden Eaglets over their qualification for the quarter final of the ongoing FIFA cadet World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) but has raised dust on their ages.

“The Eaglets were the better side. I am happy with FIFA for bringing up such tournament which has helped to ensure peace and friendship among the youths of the world. I have been in this job for over 30 years and I have been coaching the National team for 20 years. The way the Eaglets played today (yesterday) and in their matches showed that they can’t be teenagers but if they are truly within the age bracket, it shows that Nigeria will have a very strong national team in the future.

I didn’t say that they are overage but if they truly Under 17 I wish them luck. My players are young and inexperienced and it counted against Nigeria,” Doustimehr admitted in a press conference after the match.

However, Eaglets’ Head Coach, Manu Garba has threatened to drag Doustimehr to FIFA if he doesn’t withdraw the statement credited to himIran’s coach doubts Eaglets’ ages

Workers Shut Transcop Hotel Over Unpaid Salaries; Guests Trap In Lifts

Protest in Transcop Calabar

Information reaching OluFamous.Com from Calabar is that angry staff of the Transcop Hotel (Metro Hotel) a popular 5-star hotel, took laws into their hands and held the entire hotel to ransom on Wednesday.

There was pandemonium in the entire premises as the maintenance staff were said to have shut down power to the entire building, thus trapping several guests and senior members of the hotel inside lifts. They are said to be protesting over non payment of their salary and allowances for several months.

Those who did not make it into the hotel before the protest commenced were locked outside, leading to what a source described as total confusion. It took the efforts of a combined team of security personnel before the situation was brought under control. Normalcy have returned to the area.

I hear the security personnel pleaded with the workers and got a commitment from the management of the big hotel that something will be done immediately to pay the workers part of their money.

How NTA shut down my show for interviewing a gay man – Funmi Iyanda reveals

funmi
funmi

Exceptionally brilliant TV talk show host Funmi Iyanda has finally opened up about how Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) shut down her live shows after she interviewed openly gay Nigerian man, Bisi Alimi, on her popular breakfast show, New Dawn, in 2004.

I remember this story pretty well. After Bisi Alimi appeared on that show, his life changed forever. He couldn’t even return to UNILAG where he was a student at the time. He was forced to go into hiding and eventually relocated abroad.

Read Funmi’s story after the cut…

It’s a good thing my meddling mum took Musibau off his alcoholic dad just before that wretch of a father was sent to jail for raping a minor. My mother went missing a year later so I never saw Musibau again but that’s another story.

He was 15 but he looked 12, l was seven but l looked 10. People generally looked weird in my neighborhood, but nobody thought anyone one weird – odd maybe but life was odd wasn’t it?
Musibau was the first to run into Miss John who spoke Queen’s English and walked like a girl. Everybody called him Miss John, I have no idea why. But we were interested in him because we needed to walk through his garden to climb into Baba Olugbo’s compound for the agbalumo tree.

‘Have You Heard: Backing of babies by mothers bad for infants’

The ancient practice of “swaddling” a baby in a blanket, arms restrained and legs stretched out, is making a comeback, but experts warned on Tuesday that it was bad for infant hips.

Pediatrician Alastair Sutcliffe of University College, London pointed out that in countries like Nigeria where women traditionally carry their babies with the legs splayed around their waist, there was a “virtually unseen” rate of hip dislocation.

While many parents say the technique is soothing and aids their child’s sleep, researchers underlined that links have been observed to osteoarthritis and hip replacement in middle age.
“Traditional swaddling is a risk factor for DDH (Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip),” paediatric orthopedic surgeon,  Nicholas Clarke, wrote in the Archives of Disease in Childhood, a British journal.

Senator Chris Ngige

A certain Mrs. Maryrose Ozoemena Nwadike, said to be a younger sister to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Chris Ngige, in the Anambra State governorship election was said to have been debarred from practicing law in Maryland, the United States for allegedly using her bank account to launder money for one of her elder brothers, presumed to be Chris.

Nwadike was consequently debarred after a Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission was said to have found her guilty for using her escrow account to launder vast sums of money for the said brother and for lying to investigators and the judge when questioned about it.

In the highlight of the commission’s decision, it was stated that the “Respondent claimed that $349,975 wired into her Attorney Trust Account on August 2005 came from (unspecified) personal injury cases and form attorney’s fees and reimbursed expenses in the Dr Ngige Election Tribunal Case(s) in Nigeria.”

The documents of the long trial and investigation, outlined a vast array of infringements and “four year pattern of commingling funds which the Respondent claimed she used in paying for her personal expenses as intentional misappropriation.”
A rather shocking part of the revelation was an alleged disbursement of a staggering sum of $349,975 for bringing a homeless American to delay Ngige's stay in office.

Bizzare: Man Cut off his Penis Because He Was Tired Of Being Single

Agony: Yang Hu, pictured in hospital, severed his own penis because he thought it was surplus to requirements since he couldn't find a girlfriend
Agony: Yang Hu, pictured in hospital, severed his own penis because he thought it was surplus to requirements since he couldn't find a girlfriend

A Chinese man frustrated at being single cut off his own penis then, in agony, decided to cycle to a hospital for treatment.

When he arrived doctors told him they couldn't help save his manhood and ordered him to cycle back home to get the penis before he could be treated.
When Yang Hu, 26, eventually arrived back at the hospital with the severed member, doctors told him that it had been without blood for too long, and it was impossible to reattach it.

Yang's friends said that he had been increasingly depressed about the fact that since moving to the city he could not find a girlfriend.
What was worse, they said, was that he was doing such long hours in a clothing factory in Jiaxing, in Zhejiang province in east China, that he doubted he would ever have a chance to meet a woman.
His depression grew so bad that after returning home after work at 9pm on October 27 to his rented room he had suddenly decided to cut off his member as there was no use for it anyway, and believing it would stop him thinking about getting a girlfriend.
Incredibly he managed to cycle to the hospital, then cycled home again to collect the severed member and then back to the hospital.

Gov Aliyu Of Niger pulls out of new PDP

The new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) has suffered setback as one of its major sponsors, Niger State governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu, says he is pulling out because he was no longer comfortable with the group.

A source close to the governor told Daily Trust correspondent yesterday that his principal opted to pull out of the group quietly to avoid raising dust. He said Governor Aliyu is backing down to save his political career and ease his bid to anoint a successor with the least opposition from the party.
“His Excellency is not comfortable with the direction the new PDP is taking especially in his state where any tiny slip would deprive him of the control of the party’s political machinery. He would be required to set up a new party structure and leave the formidable structure the PDP already has in place for others to use,” the source said.
Governor Aliyu, he said, became worried over the way in no time his predecessor Abulkadir Kure and Prof. Jerry Gana placed themselves in strategic positions to take over the PDP structure in the state.

Dear Agatha,
share-a-problemI got married to a complete stranger less than three months after we met. The more I got to know her, the more resentful of her I have become.

I discovered she lived a very careless and carefree life; lived with different men; did a lot of night clubbing while in school.

She smokes, is in the habit of dressing immodestly and playing truancy. In fact she played her time away and in the process destroyed herself. She is also spoilt. I got to know a lot of things about her from her friends and those close to her. Some she told me herself.

Gov. Peter Obi, Obiano Pelted With Sachet Water By Onitsha Traders During Market Campaign (Photo)

onitsha

Traders in Onitsha Main Market today resisted the order by the state government to close the markets in order to welcome Mr. Willie Obiano,  candidate of APGA.

The confusion which followed the order marred the proposed visit  of the APGA candidate in company Chief Martins Joe-Martins Uzodike, Obiano's Campaign Manager who also doubles as the State Commissioner for Information, Tourism & Culture.

The traders showed visible anger as they marched through the market carrying placards.
They were soon joined by another contingent marching from Ose Okwodu with brooms and before one could say Jack Robinson, bystanders , youngsters and Okada riders joined them chanting songs in favor of the APC candidate , Senator Chris Ngige.

The arrival of the Governor Obi and Obiano did not deter the protesting traders rather bolstered the aggrieved traders

The governor’s entourage was pelted with sachet water bags, prompting a quick retreat to Whitehouse office of the Onitsha Amalgamated Traders Association (OMATA), where the donation of N1m announced by the governor was shouted down with many booing his entourage.

BankyW Tells His Grass To Grace Story: ‘I Begged To Sell CDs In US Salons To Survive’

Many see the glamour but are ignorant of the hard work and pains that preceded Banky W's fame and success.

In a chat with Vanguard, BankyW shared his story - how he moved from being an undergraduate begging for audience at salons in the United States, to building a musical empire that has produced internationally acclaimed artistes like Skales and Wizkid.

Excerpts:
“Everybody knows me to be the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of EME, but what people do not know is that EME started when I was in my third year in university in New York.

You see, we all dream dreams, but it is important to think very big and start where you are because God never gives you everything but gives you enough to start.

At that time, I knew I wanted to do music, but of course I understood nobody starts by selling a million CDs or the big screen!

I worked in fast foods outlets, clothing stores and as a knife salesman, selling knives from door to door. That way, I gathered money to pay for studio recording time. I was recording with a close friend at that time.

After making that music, we printed a thousand CDs though we didn’t have any fan. I had one battered car that broke down virtually everywhere, so, we would print black and white posters, stick them on the sides of the car, sell from the car’s trunk and drive to salons to do marketing.
We would walk to the owners of the salons, greet politely, and ask them to let us entertain their customers. Sometimes, some would kick us out and sometimes some would say yes. If told yes, after singing for a minute or two, we would sell our CDs to the customers! That was the beginning!

A lot of people see you on stage and see the success but do not know what you had to go through! I never had one really big break; it was always two steps forward and a couple backwards.
But I just decided that I was going to make music work for me. That was why I moved on to a new salon each time any salon rejected me!
