Let hear the Minister as he defends the indefensible Policy
"The Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, yesterday insisted that the payment of N1,000 for the application form of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) is the right thing to do for Nigerians.
Moro said the consulting firm in charge of the recruitment had the approval of the ministry to charge N1,000 on the advice of the Federal Character Commission.
The minister spoke in Abuja at the inauguration of the ministerial committee on paramilitary village housing scheme development project.
He said: “It bothers me why people refuse to understand, because of their entrenched interest.
“It is the right thing to do for the ordinary Nigerian in terms of cost benefit analysis. It is more cost-effect to visit the sites to register, to get interviewed and get employed in the Ministry of Interior and its corporations.
“I am aware that we are coming from a background of a distorted and controversial process of recruitment into the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), where it was alleged that the process was compromised"
Only In Nigeria can a Public Official be the callous and insensitive. Where lies the hope for the million of unemployed graduates who may find it difficult to sacrifice 1,000 from the little they have.
Ok, over to you my dear esteemed reader, your thoughts on this will be highly appreciated
