Tragedy: Three children of same parent drown in a Well

THREE children of the same parent got drowned in a well at Owerre-Olubor Community, Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday.

The deceased children aged between ages 8 and 11 years were said to be playing on top of the well within the compound when it collapsed.

The well, filled with water, threatened sympathizers who made all efforts to rescue the children  just as the lifeless bodies of the deceased children were deposited at the Government Mortuary, Umunede.

It was also learnt that neighbor's and bystanders made attempts to drain the water out of the well with water pumping machine but it was late as the children were already dead.
Hundreds of sympathizers trooped out of their various locations immediately they heard the sad news.

It was gathered that mother of the deceased children made several attempt to jump into the well but she was stopped by the sympathizers.
ASP Lucky Uyabeme, Delta Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, who confirmed the incident said the deceased children had been deposited at the mortuary in the area.
