Chief Fredrick Dike, an acclaimed world weather controller from Ifiteani village Agulu, Anambra State and a Kinsman of Dr. Chike Akunyili, husband to the late Dora Akunyili, former Minister of Information and Communications, Wednesday vowed to use his mystical powers to disrupt the burial ceremony of the late NAFDAC boss tomorrow Thursday when she would be committed to mother earth at her home town, Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area of the State.

Dike explained in an interview with Vanguard  that Dora’s husband and other stakeholders including the former Anambra state Governor, Mr Peter Obi, his Special Advicer on Parks and Markets, Chief Sylvester Nwaobulor among others went behind him to meet other rain makers in the town and its environs without recognising him as number one rain maker in Anambra State.

According to him, “Dora, herself is also my wife and we are all sharing in the pain of her death but since they sidelined me in controlling the weather, they will see rainfall tomorrow (That is Thursday) and throughout the week unless they do the needful.

“Let it also be on record that I am not insisting on loosing the heaven tomorrow because I was not consulted but because they went to see other rain makers with lots of gift items to control the weather which they know I can do without charging anything. We shall test powers tomorrow” he boasted.

The traditional practitioner who also claimed he uses what he described as equatorial mazmazu on the moon and rings of the world in the sun also alleged that some of his kinsmen are hitherto withholding a National award given to him by President Goodluck Jonathan and however warned those in custody of the award to make it available for him before it will be too late.

“I was told that Mr. President gave me an award but some people are still with it and I want to use this opportunity to let Mr. President know that am yet to get the award” he said

In a related development, It was was harvest of tribute on Wednesday as the remains of the former  minister of Information and Communication, Prof Dora Akunyili arrived the Anambra State capital, Awka

It was encomium after encomium as tears were allowed to flow freely in the centre which was filled to the brim by friends, colleagues and family relations as well as mourners and sympathisers of her husband and family.

The dignitaries that paid tribute include: the former Nigerian President and commander in Chief of armed force, Gen. Yakubu Gowan, wife of the former president of Nigeria, Mrs Bola Obasanjo, chief Victor Umeh, Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano and his wife, Mrs Josephine Aninih, Prof Chukwuemeka Ike, traditional rulers council, presidents General, Association of Anambra State Entertainment Practitioners, pharmaceutical society of Nigeria, women groups among others.

Indigenes of the state, who gathered at the Women’s Development Centre, Awka to pay tribute to the Amazon described her in various glowing superlatives, each recalling their experience with her.

The Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano told the audience that he had concluded arrangement to name Prof Dora Akunyili as the State’s Ambassador Plenipotentiary before her death.

This idea, he said, was conceived because of the good representation the state had received from her, with the hope that she would use the position to boost the state positively.

Obiano said that the death of Akunyili was a loss to the entire Anambra people and Nigerians at large, and that her absence would be felt for a long while.

Former Head of State, Gen Yakubu Gowon said Akunyili, despite her busy schedule, was a good wife to her husband, and called on the family to have courage as their mother, Akunyili lived a good life and also impacted in the entire country.

It was, however, a time of emotion as the husband of the late Akunyili, Dr Chikle Akunyili mounted the podium to recount some memorable times he had with his late wife.

Chike recounted how his wife had so much faith in Nigeria to the point of insisting on being in the National Conference, despite her failing health, and how she had during her days as the Minister of Information and Communication flung a green card at US Embassy officials, deciding to keep her Nigerian Diplomatic passport.

“I remember when she was running for the senate, in our community, she had over 10,000 votes, and some ballot papers were remaining, and when APGA  people came to her and said they wanted to thumbprint on the left over papers, she effused and said ‘what will I tell my God’.

She was forthright to the point of death, and for those who think that she is a hater of the Igbos, I can only say sorry to them. She is one person who believes in doing things right, to the point that she even sacked my immediate younger brother from NAFDAC during her days”.
