Texas woman locks granddaughter in a car while she watches movie

East Texas resident Felicia Green was arrested after leaving her granddaughter in a locked car to go watch a movie.

An East Texas grandmother wanted to see a movie so badly, she left her granddaughter in a locked car, authorities said.

Felicia Green, 49, faces child endangerment charges for allegedly leaving the 5-year-old girl in her car Wednesday night to catch a flick at the Carmike Cinemas movie theater in Tyler, according to KLTV.

She reportedly left the little girl alone for at least an hour. Police were called after receiving calls about a child locked inside of the vehicle.

The Tyler Fire Department had to pry the door open and remove the child, who was not hurt during the incident.

Then theater employees helped officials track down the wanted moviegoer, and she was arrested for child endangerment and transported to Smith County jail.

The young girl, whose name was not released, was placed in the custody of a family member.

It was unclear what movie the woman had chosen to see.
