| Capt. Joseph Wyatt and First officer Peter Bello Captain Joseph Wyatt (left) from Oklahoma, USA and First Officer Peter Bello (right), were the pilot and co-pilot of the Bristow Helicopter that crashed yesterday. Both men died. According to a statement signed by Bristow’s Regional Director Africa, Duncan Moore, Captain Wyatt, joined the company in 2006 and has spent his entire career flying with Bristow Helicopters out of Africa. Peter Bello joined Bristow in 2014 after graduating from the company’s Academy’s helicopter flight school. |
Mean while Tributes have poured in for Peter Bello, First officer of the crashed Bristow helicopter.
Friends and sympathizers have taken to social media to express their grief and share condolences with the hashtag #PeterBello.

Peter! I would never be able to write your name and those three words in one sentence. I woke up thinking I was strong, went in to work and couldn't stop the tears till my manager asked me to leave! My PB! Baddest photographer of life! I remember the night we started the IG photography page. You kept saying you wouldn't have time. Mr pilot! I created the page and then you'd send me photos to post. I remember how excited you were when you started getting a hang of the page and hashtags and started posting yourself. When I started the GI website you went through the drafts with me. Even offered to help me pay for part of it, in exchange for a part of the business lol. We were still together in London few months ago and never in my life did I think this would happen. Peter why didn't you call in sick. Why weren't you on holiday yesterday. Why did it go down!
