Information reaching Chukwudi Iwuchukwu's blog from very reliable sources says that the former president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, today tore his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) membership card to pieces.
As at the time of filing this report it is unclear on the possible reasons behind his action.
However, some sources opine that the tearing of his PDP membership may have a bearing on the recent public face-off behind Obasanjo and the presidency.
It would be recalled that the presidency, towards the end of last week, accused Obasanjo of nursing the ambition of heading an interim government should elections be postponed from the rescheduled march 28 date, and the need for an interim government arises.
The accusation by the presidency on Obasanjo is not unconnected with Obasanjo's recent verbal attack on the presidency, where he accused president Jonathan of being desperate to remain in power
