OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR ROTIMI CHIBUIKE AMAECHI OF RIVERS STATE

1.jpg

Dear Sir,

Before I start, it is imperative that I Introduce myself, My Name Is Chukwudi Iwuchukwu, I'm not from Rivers State rather a young Nigerian excited that a young man in his forties is showing my generation that age can not be a barrier or an issue  towards going for any elective office in Nigeria no matter how lofty

Sir,Was elated to see you on AIT news on Tuesday  night where you were shown registering for your party APC in your village. At last, you have finally walked the talk, I told myself,Only to be taken back when you addressed the press after your registration and what came out of your mouth was disturbing to say the least

Let hear you as I quote you verbatim:

"You see all the people here,80 percent of them are unemployed and that is as a result of the corruption by the PDP led Federal Government. APC is on a mission to rescue Nigeria from unemployment, corruption and also to rescue the economy which is stagnant and not growing"

Sir, I don't have any problem with that mantra, "APC is on a mission to rescue Nigeria". We need such sweet talk to convince and woo Nigerians especially the ones sitting on the fence to vote and support APC but I what I don't understand in all sincerity is laying the blame of unemployment sorely on the feet of Federal Government. Sir,That is hypocrisy of the highest order and I cringed on my seat hearing a man of your standing and a model to young people vomiting such illogical statement  on a National TV

Sir, I agree with you that It is the responsibility of Federal government to create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths roaming the streets but the last time i checked, That responsibility is not exclusive to Federal Government alone

In Case you have have forgotten Sir, It is also the responsibility of Rivers State Government to also create Jobs for its people and lest we forget Sir, your Job functions include, making rivers state conducive for Investors to come in and Invest, putting in place Tax reliefs, incentives and measures that would excite investors to come to Rivers State and create Jobs

Sir, Denying this huge responsibility and shifting the blame of high rise of unemployment to Abuja is tantamount to playing the ostrich and does not augur well for the Party you are trying to sell to Nigerians to support

Sir, I also concur with you when you say that Federal government have failed woefully when it comes to Job creation, Oh Yes I totally agree with you, I'm a young Nigerian in his twenties and I do  see many of my friends, classmates and contemporaries roaming the streets looking for Non-existing Job but Sir,can your beat your chest in all honesty and tell Nigerians, yes, In spite of the open failure shown by PDP led Government in the aspect of Job creation, I created so so and so amount of Jobs for young people in my state. Also irrespective of this I was able to attract the Likes Of Dangote, Jim Ovia,Strive Masiyiwa, Ashish Thakkar, Adenugua, and other World Class Entrepreneurs and Brands to my state to invest and as a result of their intervention, One million jobs were created for my people . I also empowered small business owners in Rivers State with soft loans and grants with tax reliefs to boost their small businesses ,stimulating them to create more jobs in the process and finally, My Administration Instituted a training intervention targeted to train my people who are talented with their hands and after the training, I encouraged them with grants to hit the ground running with what they have learnt

My dear amiable Governor, If you cant boast of these achievements, Believe me Sir, You are on the same page with the PDP led government you criticized on AIT

Tell me Sir, why then should I and other young people join you and your party in rescuing Nigeria since your government have not shown any glimpse of hope or project heartwarming news in regards to what is dear to my generation, that is Job creation and keeping our Idle mind busy

Nigerians especially my generation are not timid again, we know that Politicians which you are among are soap box veterans and are also good in Making empty promises but I want to know,

My Dear amiable Governor,How many jobs have you created for your people since you assumed office? Can you publish It stating the various sectors the Jobs were created and the brands that facilitated the Job creation?

Sir, Waiting earnestly for your response and accept my regards
