This Bloodletting Must Stop, Says IBB As Boko Haram Kills Monarch, 15 Others In Borno

Ripples of Wednesday twin bomb blast that saw the death of scores of Nigerians and escape of former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari and Islamic cleric, Sheik Dahiru Bauchi continued with the former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida condemning the blast and cautioned against a continued bloodletting.

In a statement, he personally signed with the titled, “This Bloodletting Must Stop”, Babangida said that the Wednesday by yet unknown persons has once again thrown up new dimensions in the political life of Nigeria.


According to Babangida popularly known as IBB said, “This and several other attacks have tended to portray our dear Country as a terrorist nation that is grasping with insecurity. To state the least, this bloodletting must stop. This bloodletting has to stop.”

In a related development,  Gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram on Thursday, July 24, 2014 invaded Garubula village in Biu local Government area of Borno state killing many.

Among those killed in the attack is the district head, Alhaji Ibrahim Dawi and 11 other villagers.
In an earlier attack on Wednesday night, two people suspected to be members of vigilante youth, known as civilian JTF, were dragged from their houses to a river bank in Gamboru Ngala border town with Cameroon Republic and slaughtered by suspected terrorists group.

Two people suspected to be a motorist and his passenger were also ambushed and shot dead along Maiduguri – Gamboru Ngala road.

The Maiduguri – Gamboru Ngala road came under attack on Tuesday by terrorists with the blowing of the the bridge linking the town with Cameroon Republic.

Speaking with BBC Hausa service programme monitored by our Correspondent, Senator Ahmed Zanna Representing Borno Central confirmed the slaughtering of the two members of the vigilante youth in Gamboru Ngala.
