Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo's Private University, Kings Uni Officially Takes Off As The Cleric Offers 120 Scholarship To Outstanding Students

The university

After delays necessitated by the need to get it right and also to sort out regulator's concerns, Pastor Pastor Ashimolowo’s private university Kings University has officially begun its first  academic session by throwing  gates open for qualified students to apply 

Pastor Ashimolowo, whose Kingsway International Christian Church (KICC) is the largest evangelical church in Western Europe, joins the likes of Pastor David Oyedepo who already own private universities in Nigeria. Pastor Ashimolowo’s latest venture is located in Ode Omu in Osun State and will be called KICC University.


Built over a sprawling 500 acre site, KICC University will start off with six faculties and 22 departments

A visit to the university's website reveals that the university prides as a Faith Based University anchored on robust Information technology in its teaching, learning,research and public service mandate with a quality circular 

 According to the motto of the university

"We believe that Nigeria is technologically a virgin land. Nigeria missed the 20th Century; it must not miss the 21st Century"


In a related development, in order to reward academic excellence, the Founder of the University Pastor Ashimolowo and the church he pastors, KICC have made available,   120 scholarships opportunities to reward academically outstanding students

This is to inform the general public of the following scholarship opportunities available at Kings University, Ode-Omu for the 2015/2016 Academic Session;
1. Matthew Ashimolowo Scholarship Scheme (MASS)
A total of 40 full tuition and accommodation scholarships are available for academically outstanding applicants of Kings University in the following areas:

• Management Sciences (10 students)
• Information Technology (10 students)
• Sciences (20 students)

2. KICC Scholarship Scheme
A total of 80 full tuition and accommodation scholarships are available for academically outstanding applicants of Kings University in the following categories:

• Ode-Omu indigenes (5 students)
• Management Sciences (25 students)
• Information Technology (20 students)
• Sciences (30 students)

To qualify, submit an online application for admission form into any of the available programmes on the Kings University portal. Only shortlisted applicants would be contacted.
