Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State on Wednesday spoke for the first time about protest organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the outcome of Anambra governorship election, saying that such action is not only unwise, but foolish and idiotic
Obi, at Alex Ekwueme Square where he distributed 280 brand new vehicles to directors of the local government system and 80 buses to local councils, said as far as he is concerned, the governorship election is over.
Obi wondered how people who are in no way connected to Anambra State, except that they believed that somebody from their own party would win the election, should organise protest in Abuja and took over the burden of the election upon themselves, not because they love Anambra people.
He wondered how many Anambra people participated in the Abuja protest over the election of a governor that would rule over them.
To make the matter worse, Obi said, some of the home states of those who filed out in protest against Anambra election, are burning and they could not proffer solution to the problem.
Obi wondered how such people will turn into outsiders, who weep more than the bereaved, when they cannot help themselves.
Also speaking on the governor-elect, Willie Obiano, Obi said he has no agreement with him and does not require anything from him.
“Fortunately, he has more enough personal wealth before coming to contest the governorship election; and so, my advice to him is: serve the people. I have no agreement with him. I don’t need anything from him”.
He thanked Anambra people for voting for continuous progress of the state for the future
