Teenager kills father in Osun

AN 18-year-old boy, Adetoyinbo Olalekan, was on Wednesday, November 13, arrested by a team of police detectives from ‘B’ Division, Ijamo, Ilesa, Osun State, for allegedly killing his father.

Upon his arrest, the teenager confessed to the police that he committed the offence, saying that on his return from school on the fateful day, his father, Mr Ayodele Adetoyinbo (56), had accused him of stealing six of his empty kegs.

Olalekan said his explanation to his father that he knew nothing about the missing kegs fell on deaf ears, a situation which led to a heated argument between father and son.
He admitted hitting his father on the head with cement bricks, which led to the injury sustained by the deceased

A police source told the Nigerian Tribune that detectives took the injured man to the hospital , where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
When contacted, the state police spokesperson, Folasade Odoro, a Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident, disclosing that the corpse had been deposited at Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, for autopsy.

She added that the Commissioner of Police, Dorothy Gimba, had directed that the state Criminal Investigation Department, Osogbo, should take over the case for further investigation.
