Threat To Life: Woman Reports Husband To IGP




A woman, Mrs Justina Nwodo, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Abubakar, over alleged plot by her husband, Mr Roland Nwodo to kill her.
Justina who filed a report at the Garki police station alleged that two weeks ago, Nwodo broke into her bedroom when she was bathing and poured fuel on her with a match box in his hand in a bid to burn her but she was able to escape, having been able to raise alarm.

When LEADERSHIP contacted the Garki police station, the DPO was not available but a police officer who craved anonymity said investigation had commenced and they were gathering evidences preparatory to charging the Nwodo to court.

In a three-paged petition to the IGP, through her lawyer, N Mbaezue Esq, the complainant asked the IGP to ensure that her alleged assailant is brought to face the law on the basis of offences flowing from his conducts.

In the petition dated November 7, 2013, titled “Petition against Mr Roland Okechukwu Nwodo on threat to life, attempted murder and assault on Mrs Justina Nneka Nwodo”, Justina alleged that her husband has made several previous attempts to kill her which the police in Garki are aware of.

“This present attempt, being the straw that broke the camel’s back, has forced Nneka, who lived with her husband at Area 2, Section 2, Garki, Abuja, to involve the police high command in the matter to guarantee her safety.
