A would-be bridegroom, Kabiru Danladi, has disappeared a week before his wedding, throwing members of his family and that of his supposed bride into confusion as to his whereabouts. |
This was even as all the wedding plans being organised by the two families have been temporarily halted and are in jeopardy. It was learnt that on Sunday, February 25, 2014, 23-year-old Danladi was said to have left Kara along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for Agege to buy some clothes to add to the ones he had bought for his weeding that was to hold on February 9, 2014 in Kebbi State.
According to his brother, Amzat Seidu; “I was not in the Kara that Sunday, but the previous day, we were together in Kara buying some items he was to takehome for the weeding, I even got him some new currency notes to give to my mum in the village and some other family members. “The following day, I saw him in the evening at the market, he told me he was going to Agege to buy more clothes to add to the ones he had bought before, I bade him goodbye.”
Seidu also narrated that he waited endlessly for Danladi in the market throughout the night, hoping that he would come back.” He added that some family members have been calling him on his cell phone to know of his whereabouts, I tried to console them that he would be back. “I have visited Elere Police Station,Okooba Police station and Pen Cinema Police Station to check their cells to confirm whether he was among those who were raided by the police in that area.”
We have also gone to the Lagos State Teaching Hospital mortuary in Ikeja to check if he was knocked down by a hit and run driver, but all to no avail.”Mrs. Hawau Danladi, the victim’s mother, who spoke in Hausa Language through an interpreter, told our correspondent that life has not being the same for her and the entire Danladi family in Argungun community since the disappearance of Danladi as they have pooled their resources together to give their son a befitting weeding.
He said, however, that the family takes consolation in Allah, who they believed would return him safely. “As
I speak with you now, everything is set for his weeding here in Argungun, the family of his wife and my family are also set for the weeding only to be told that he has been declared missing in Lagos, this is too heavy for us to bear,” his mother said. Aliu Ismaila, a friend to the victim, said we were in Kara that evening when he came to me that he was going to Agege to by some items.
“We have searched the nooks and crannies of Agege and Berger area, the most painful part was that he understands little or no English Language that could help him find his way in Lagos.” It was gathered that the Seriki Hausa of Awori Land, Muhammed Badamosi, has urged the Hausa community in Lagos State to help in the search of Danladi, saying if found, the Kara Malu in Isheri Olofin or the Seriki Hausa palace should be contacted
