An attempt to have fun with a male partner in an hotel room ended in the tragic death of a 45-year-old woman, identified as Omolara Ashiru, in Lagos.
Policemen attached to the MAN Centre police station Ikeja Lagos are still trying to resolve the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. The woman was found stark naked on the bed of the hotel room. A source in the hotel revealed that the victim and the yet-to-be identified male companion visited the hotel on January 23.
But after a few hours, the man told the receptionist he was going to withdraw money from an ATM to book the room for the whole night, but did not return. After waiting endlessly, the staff of the hotel went to the room to ask his woman companion for his phone number, but they were shocked to find her naked on the bed and motionless. “The man was our regular customer.
That day, he came to the hotel with a tall and dark woman. He booked a room. But after a while, he came to the receptionist and told him that he would like to spend the night with his female friend but he did not have enough money to book for the night.
“He told the receptionist that he wanted to go to the ATM to withdraw some cash, but he did not come back. “After waiting endlessly for him, the manager was informed and he ordered that the woman he came with be informed so she that could leave the hotel but to our shock, after entering the room, the woman was found stark naked, her brazier and other underwear were scattered on the ground. She was dead.
“We raised the alarm and invited the police from the MAN Centre police station in Ikeja, but they could not trace the man. But the woman was identified as Omolara Ashiru,” the hotel source said. It was learnt that the police arrested two staff of the hotel and invited the owner of the hotel. But the owner has allegedly gone into hiding. “The police arrested two members of staff of the hotel after they removed the woman’s corpse to the mortuary. The police are still looking for the owner of the hotel, but he is nowhere to be found.
The case has been transferred to the Homicide Department at Panti Yaba for further investigation,” a police source said. But when contacted, the state Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Domasus Ozoani, said Police is on top of the situation
