There is palpable fear in the Rivers state capital, Port Harcourt, as men, women and youths have stormed the State Judiciary complex.

The protest began when it emerged that the unfavoured candidate for the position of Chief Judge in the state, Justice Daizy Okocha, allegedly broke into the Judiciary complex with some thugs late yesterday afternoon, to purportedly resume office.

The action was greeted this morning with a massive protest, led by members of the National Assembly including Senator Magnus Abe, Dakuku Peterside, Honourable Asita, some Local Government Chairmen, members of the state Executive council and executives of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

The members of the Judiciary workers union have already embarked on an indefinite strike, following the grouse in the state judiciary – an act suspected to be sponsored the Rivers state government, in a bid to allegedly stop Justice Okocha from resuming.

There is massive grid lock in Port Harcourt now.

More details later…
