Supermart Continues Shops, Coverage Expansions

Gbolahan Fagbure and Raphael Afaedor, co-founders of Supermart

Supermart, an online grocery delivery service that launched in April initially delivering orders to Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lekki and Lagos Island is now extending its area of coverage to include Ikeja, Maryland, Ilupeju, Ogba, Yaba, Surulere and surrounding areas.

The unique service has been well received since inception. Customers are currently able to order from over 30,000 items from leading retailers like Park n Shop, Spar, Office R Us, Laterna Books and from today, also, Medplus.

Gbolahan Fagbure and Raphael Afaedor, co-founders of Smartmart have always stated their focus will be on delivering first class customer service.

Raphael said “there has been an enthusiastic response since we launched and today, we are extremely pleased to be taking the service to more parts of Lagos. It is also doubly exciting that we’ve added a leading pharmacy, Medplus, to the list of our retail partners”.

According to Gbolahan, “we’ve been getting questions from potential customers asking when we are expanding to their neighbourhood and with today’s announcement of the extension of our service to the wider Ikeja area, Yaba and Surulere, we are confident we will be bringing a more convenient shopping experience to these people. Our emphasis has been and always will be on steady expansion that does not dilute the quality of the service we offer”.

With Park ‘n’ Shop, Spar, Office R Us, Laterna Books and Medplus as retail partners, Supermart now offers the full complement of groceries and everyday essentials that are typically only found in a mega-supermarket.

It is a pioneer in offering customers this complete assortment of items under one roof.

Some of the customers like Shirley, said, “It was good, very professional. 2 items needed to be substituted, and I got a call that was handled very professionally. The guy who called had found items that made sense to substitute, and called back to clarify when I had a question about one of them. The delivery was also very efficiently, courteously and professionally handled, and I was happy with the packaging. Delivery guy smiled – always a bonus :)”
Chidimma, “Finally used your service on Saturday and got people in my apartment building to use it. Customer service was amazing, great follow up...overall great service”

Supermart has famously stated that it saves customers at least 6 hours every week – time spent driving to and from various supermarkets, looking for parking at these supermarkets and queuing at the till to pay. Its speed of delivery is also worthy of note; delivering orders to customers in as early as 3 hours in one of its three daily delivery slots (Noon – 3pm, 3pm – 6pm, 6pm – 9pm).
