On the 4th of October 2014 Zimbabwean women took to the streets of
Harare to protest against the sexual harassment they face at the hands
of minibus taxi drivers and conductors, known locally in slang as
‘MaHwindi’.
The march, organised by a Women Rights lobby group, Katswe Sistahood,
is meant to send a message to the touts that women have a right to
dress the way they like.
The Mini-Skirt March saw a few hundred women taking to the
