Controversy as Alaafin of Oyo prays with his queens in front row at prayer ground

A picture of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi showing his wives praying in the front row with men is generating controversy on some sections of social media

In the photo, taken at the prayer ground during the recent Eid el-Fitr celebrations, the Alaafin of Oyo can be seen with his son, Prince Akeem Adeyemi, other chiefs and some of his queens (Oloris) at the second row. His son, Prince Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi aka Skimeh is a member of the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja on the platform of the APC.

Under Islam tenets, The meeting together, mixing, and intermingling of men and women in one place, and exposure of women to men are prohibited by the Law of Islam (Shari'ah).
