Parents, Students Protest In Front Of UNILAG Over School’s 250 Cut-Off Mark(Photos)

Parents, youths protest cut-off mark in Unilag

The University of Lagos today announced it’s decision to increase the cut off mark for its post UTME exercise to 250. This goes against the cut off mark of 180 pegged by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

It is unclear as to why the University reached this decision, but parents as well as prospective students are coming together just outside the University gate to register their disapproval of the new development.

The University of Lagos announced the sale of Post UTME forms just a few days ago and this development has taken many by surprise.

Their action not only caused traffic on the entrance of the university, it later resulted in the forceful closure of the gate.
As of the time of filing this report , the entrance gate to the institution was shut, as security operatives directed vehicles to take the alternative exit route out of the premises.
According to the protesters, the university has upped its cut-off to 250 marks against the recommended 180 marks by JAMB.
