Sad News: Generator fume wipes out family of three In Bayelsa

Tragedy struck in Bayelsa State on Wednesday, July 29, 2o15 as a family of three were found dead at their home in Emeyal community in Ogbia Local Government Area of the state.

Their identities were given as Ibieneye Tubotamuno, 34, his wife, Jennifer Asiagbuladia, 30, and their eight-year-old son, Goodluck.

It was gathered that a foul smell which oozed from their home prompted the forceful opening of the door and this led to the discovery of their decomposing bodies.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Bayelsa Police Command, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident.

He said preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased family might have died three days after they were last seen.

Butswat said the investigation also indicated that their death might have been caused by the inhalation of the fumes from a generating set kept inside their living room.

“Corpses were deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Mortuary, Yenagoa, for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing,” he said.
