The Hypothesized Girl |
A kidnapper was caught On Monday Morning, June 2 2014 at Owode Onirin Between Mile 12 And Ikorodu Lagos after abducting an 11 Years-Old Girl
The girl was going on an errand along her street in Ogba when the suspect grabbed her hand and asked her to follow him. When she resisted, he rubbed his palm over her face and she suddenly lost all sense of coordination and followed him
According to an eyewitness, Rita Onwurah, a mob gathered around the suspect after he was caught, and beat him up.
The suspected Kidnapper |
Pleas by the eyewitness to hand over the suspect to the police fell on deaf ears as the mob continued to descend on the kidnapper saying that the police will eventually let him go. Surprisingly, while the lynching was going on, a police patrol van passed by but ignored the crowd and drove away.
Onwurah said she kept pleading with the crowd to take the suspect to the police station. “But with all the shouting, no one was listening to me. Then a teenage boy gets a bottle of petrol & pours on him… then I started to scream,” she said.
I kept screaming that they shouldn't burn him but take him to the station. They refused, citing that the police will let him go.
As at the time she left the scene, the mob was still interrogating and beating the suspect.

A police patrol van passed by. We were shouting & waving at them to stop but the buffoons just smiled and drove on.
Then a
lady runs up to me shouting that a kidnapper has been caught. I walked
up to the crowd & saw the child in the middle of all this.
On my
way to work, I passed by a crowd huddled around someone. My first
reaction in these situations is to walk on as it's usually a fight.
