The former governor of the Central Bank (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was named the new Emir of Kano on Sunday, June 8, 2014 by the governor of the state Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Sanusi takes over from the former Emir, Ado Bayero who passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014.
