The Godswill Akpabio Unity Choir was today in London officially listed in the Guinness World Records as the Largest Group of Carol Singers in the world.
A statement released by the Guinness Record Management team at the Guinness World Records headquarters in London stated in part;

"We are thrilled to inform you that your application as the Largest Group Of Carol Singers has been successful and you are now the Guinness World Record title holders"
The Godswill Akpabio Unity Choir, organized by the Akwa Ibom State Government Protocol office had on December 13, 2014 at the Uyo Township Stadium presented 25,382 carol singers in the record attempt.
The choir sang a medley of The First Noel, Joy To The World, O Christmas Tree, Hark The Herald Sing, Once In Royal Davids City and O Come All Ye Faithful.
In It's official announcement however, Guinness World Records gave the official figure as 25,272.
The statement further added that the official Guinness World Records Certificate will be sent to the Akwa Ibom State based World Record Breakers.
