Dora's passage this morning opened a floodgate of emotion and tributes from Nigerians from all works of life who stood up in unison to mourn her demise and applaud her for the heroic work she did at NAFDAC
However one of Dora's colleagues at the on going National conference, Abdul Mahmud offered a perspective on the person Dora was during her last public appearance. According to Abdul, late Dora was ever alert inspite of her ailing condition
Read Abdul tribute below
"I remember Dora Akunyili with fond memories. Patriot, public servant and a mother, she radiated all that is good in our country

On the 1st day of confab, Iyom Anenih approached Prof Nwajiuba and I requested that we gave up our front row seat for the ailing Dora
And we (Profs Nwajiuba, Madubuike and I) engaged her all during the day's proceedings. Ever alert inspite of her ailing condition
Nigeria has lost an amazing Amazon. May God grant her soul peace eternal. Her death diminishes humanity!
Abdul Mahmud is a lawyer, essayist, poet & leftist. He has most recently published Triptych (SPM London) with one of his heteronyms, Obemata And A Delagate In The On-Going Confab
