The
Kibaku Area Development Association (KADA) has said that 7 parents of
the abducted Chibok schoolgirls have died since the kidnap of the girls
on14 April.
The
National Chairman of KADA, Dr Pogus Bitrus, who made the disclosure
today at a press conference organized by the association, said “while
this unfortunate situation persists, many distressed parents are dying
of heart attack and frustration as their dejection has become
unbearable. On record, seven (7) parents have lost their lives due to
the trauma of the situation"
Dr Bitrus noted that after 81 days since the abduction of the girls, rescue efforts by government is yet to yield any result.
“With
this development,” he said, “the Chibok (Kibaku) nation wishes to
categorically state that the inability or unwillingness of the federal
government to provide adequate security to Chibok (Kibaku) nation
following the abduction of the girls leaves us with no option than to
call on the United Nations to use its apparatus to come to our aid and
protect us from the imminent annihilation as a people.”
