The Borno state born Ishiaku allegedly carried a small keg of petrol and went to the apartment of Kadijat Saga a Togolese woman where he allegedly poured petrol in room to burn her property before he was prevented by the neighbours who saw him.
They intervened after he broke into the apartment. They restrained him before handing him over to the police. The incident happened at 14 Bamishile street, Idi-Araba where Saga lives alone.

An infuriated Ishiaku claimed that Saga has been collecting his money and had refuse him sex since they met three years ago.
Narrating what happened, Ishiaku said that he knew Saga in Togo before she came to Nigeria. He said initially, they were customers dealing on medical supplements before their relationship became intimate.

He said he had being assisting her both with her business and family demands but despite that Saga did allow him to have sex with her.
“When her mother was sick, I gave her some money to go to her country and I also gave her money for treatment and when she returned she did not appreciate what I did to assist her and her mother.”

He narrated that the police and Saga after detaining him for three days in the cell at Itire division, still charged him to court.
Saga on her own said she did not consider Ishiaku as her lover, noting that, they were just friends.
She said she was surprised when her neighbours called and told her that Isiaku broke her door and wanted to set her room on fire.
She said she rushed back home and saw what happened before going to the police.
Ishiaku was charged before Ijeshatedo Magistrate’s court with conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and attempted arson under the Criminal Code.
