Protest At Abuja Airport Over Arik Air flight Cancellation

There was a protest Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja (NAIA), Abuja on one of Arik Air's flights scheduled for Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state.

Protesting passengers described the incident as one cancellation of flight schedule to Ilorin airport too many.

One of the passengers, who preferred not to be identified, while speaking to THISDAY on telephone, said he is angered because he has waited for several hours at the airport only to face cancellation of flight by Arik Air.

Lagos Cyclist Yemi Oyekoya to Travel Over 600 Miles from Ghana to Nigeria via Bicycle to Raise Funds for Ebola

 Yemi Oyekoya, a Lagos-based cyclist, has promised to embark on over 1, 000 km (600 miles +)  journey from Ghana to Nigeria to raise funds for the fight against Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).

Oyekoya told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the journey would be used to create more awareness for the fight against the EVD and assist its victims.

According to Oyekoya, the journey will begin on December 19th in Accra and end in Lagos on January 15th, 2015.

Cameroonian Soccer Star Samuel Eto Marries Fiancee After 10 Years And 4 Children Together

International and Cameroonian soccer star Samuel Eto’o has got married to the mother of his four children, Ivorian Tra Lou Georgette in a private ceremony on Monday 24th November in Capiago Intimiano, in the Lake Como area, Italy.

Eto'o reportedly proposed to Georgette back in July although the pair has been traditionally married since 2007. They have now been together for about 10 years.

A house help in Nairobi was on Wednesday caught on  camera abusing a defenseless child days after a video of a similar incident in Uganda went viral sparking outrage.

In the video, a lady is seen harshly moving the roughly three-year-old child out of a sofa and pushes while ordering the child: “Toa hizo nguo haraka!” (undress quickly).

UNIJOS Shut Indefinitely As Soldiers Shoot 8 Protesting Students

The University of Jos has been closed down after a protest by students over hike in fees turned bloody, with security officials called in to restore order shooting at least eight students.

A statement, Tuesday, by the University Registrar Jully Dandam, after a hurriedly convened management meeting, said the institution would remain shut “till further notice”.

The statement ordered all students to vacate campus before 2 p.m. on Tuesday as a way of halting the violence and stopping the crisis from spreading to other parts of the state.

 A 44-year- old woman, Clara Dominique, who had been childless for 18 years, was last Saturday delivered of quadruplets. The quadruplets are three girls and a male. They were delivered at the Graceland Medical Centre in Benin City, Edo State.

The couple got married in 1996, and experienced the usual turbulence that infertile couples go through. Clara Dominique said it was God’s grace that kept them through the trials of childlessness. She said they refused to keep friends because of the problem.

Abuja High Court Frees Aminu Oguche, Alleged Nyanya Bomber

A federal court in Abuja has freed Aminu Oguche, the suspected mastermind of the Nyanya bomb attack in Abuja, the News Agency of Nigeria has reported.

The court struck out a two-count terrorism charge against Mr. Ogwuche on Monday, after months of trial for the April 2014 attack which killed more than 70 people.
