The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has urged Nigerians to pray for and cooperate with the Nigeria Police Force in its efforts to curb lingering security challenges in the country.
Speaking during a special prayer session tagged: “Divine Security” organised for members of the Nigeria Police Force at the church national headquarters in Ebute-Meta, Lagos, Pastor Adeboye said there is need to intercede for policemen as they face lots of challenges and attacks during the cause of discharging their duties.
Enumerating some of the challenges, Adeboye prayed that God will continue to guide, protect and give them necessary wisdom needed in discharging their duties adding that the members of the police force also need divine protection.
He also urged them to put their trust in God, who alone is able to surround them with His wall of protection.
In his response, The Inspector General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase, who was represented by Commissioner of Police, in charge of Administration, Lagos State, Ngozi Iloh, appreciated the gesture of RCCG in organising the special prayer for members of Nigeria Police.
She also charged members of the force to uphold righteousness in all their activities, and never relent in discharging their duties in ensuring there is peace in the country.
Also in attendance was AIG in charge of Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Yahaya Garba Ardo, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, Olatunji Akingbola, DSP Tunde Aluko, Dr. Sola Sowemimo, amongst others.
