Amin Mousali, founder of Chocolat Royal |
Following the shut down of the popular Chocolat Royale Cafe located on Etim Inyang Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos by operatives of NAFDAC (National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control), the outfit is back in business.
The popular cafe was shut on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 over alleged sale of expired food products but the latest update on the one-month old case is that it’s been reopened.
The Amin Mousali-owned Chocolat Royale reopened for business yesterday, Tuesday, June 30, 2015. No reason has been given by NAFDAC for the decision to reopen the cafe just a month after shutting it on a case as serious as alleged sale of expired food products. Efforts to reach the agency for comments have not yielded any response.
The announcement of the reopening of the outfit was made on social media by members of staff of Cool FM also owned by Amin Mousalli along with other establishments. A rep of Chocolate Royale confirmed the development to NET by saying: ‘Yes, we have reopened, we got a letter from NAFDAC last week that we’ll be reopened soon and this week it happened.’...
