Lover Boy Languishes In Prison Over Fight With Girlfriend

A man in his mid-twenties, Osa Amadin, has been sent back to prison by an Abuja Grade 1 Area Court, Kubwa , following his inability to meet bail conditions over a fight with his girlfriend.

The accused, who has been languishing in prison custody for more than three months, was charged before the court with criminal intimidation and engaging his girlfriend in a fight, an offence punishable under the Criminal Act.

According to the police prosecutor, Amadin was said to have confronted his girlfriend, a mother of two, when he discovered she was cohabiting with another man and during the fight that ensued, he allegedly threatened to deal with the man.

The accused was later charged to court but was granted bail by the Judge, Mohammed Marafa.

However, the accused could not meet the bail condition, leading to his continuous incarceration.

When the case came up for hearing last Monday, counsel to the accused, Bar. A.J. Lamosi, appealed to the Judge to strike out the case following the absence of the complainants and the prosecutor. in court.

In his ruling, the Judge advised lawyer to the accused to get a person who will bail Amadin, just as he threatened to strike out the case at the next adjourned date if the complainants were not in court.
