Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Gives 3000 Lanterns to AAU Students

The President, Believers’ Love World, (aka Christ Embassy), Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has donated 3,000 sophisticated rechargeable Lanterns to all hostel resident students of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma-Edo State.

The donation was part of the fulfillment of pledges he made to the students on January 27, 2014, while inaugurating a Multi-Purpose Auditorium he built and donated to the university, a statement says.

The donor had during the commissioning of the auditorium pledged to install solar street lights and donate lanterns to every hostel resident of the university, as way of alleviating their sufferings occasioned by epileptic power supply.

The lantern has a solar panel, radio, a large bulb and a compartment for charging cell phones, among other functions.



The donor, Pastor Oyakhilomen said the donation is geared towards improving the quality of lives and education of the students, adding that the long term measure would be the installation of solar powered street light in the entire hostel area, billed to commence soon.

Represented by the pastor in charge of the South –East Region of the church, Pastor Ambrose Isesele, the church president, said he is passionate about the education and future of the young people, hence has constantly pioneered initiatives and conferences to empower the youths.

He said the Chris Oyakhilomen Foundation was established with the sole purpose of changing the world, especially the world of the youths, and expressed hopes that the Ambrose Alli University would soon take its rightful place amongst other nations’ tertiary institutions in terms of infrastructure.

He expressed willingness to always assist the university when ever the opportunity present itself.
Edo State Commissioner for Higher Education, Barr. Washington Osifo eulogized Pastor Oyakhilomen for his contributions to the growth and development of his alma mater, and expressed profound gratitude to him for the donation.

He challenged other alumni of the university, including himself to emulate the kind gesture of the Believers Love World president, adding that contributions of alumni were crucial to the development of the university.

Vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Cordelia Agbebaku recalled the recent donation of a Multi-Purpose Auditorium to the university by Pastor Chris Oyakhilomen, and described him as a great asset to the university.

Agbebaku who described the donation as unprecedented, commended him and challenged other alumni to follow the foot steps of the Pastor Chris.


President of the Students’ Union Government, (SUG) Mr. Michael Oriekose, speaking on behalf of the students, lauded the donor, saying the donation was a demonstration of what a true alumnus represents
