Abducted Winners Chapel Pastor Regains Freedom

Tribute to Bishop David Oyedepo at 60

Freedom has finally come the way of Pastor Seyi Adekunle, of the Living Faith Church, otherwise known as Winners Chapel who was abducted by hoodlums last week.

Adekunle, who was whisked away from his church along IBB Way Calabar, last Saturday was this morning released by his captors.

Vanguard reports that the cleric was taken to the outskirt of Calabar at midnight and asked to go home.

Pastor Seyi found his way to the church where other pastors were holding a vigil for his release.

Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria in Cross River State, Pastor Lawrence Ekwok who confirmed the development said he could not confirm if any ransom was paid.

He, however, expressed gratitude to God, the police and the media for helping to facilitate the release of the pastor.

Meanwhile, Hogan Bassey, the Cross River State Police Command Spokesman who also confirmed the release, added that two persons were arrested in connection with the abduction.

“No ransom was paid but we are on the trail of other accomplices and very soon I will give you more details,” he added.
