Take long hard look at the picture of the newspaper in this post. You won’t be seeing it again.

P.M. News, Nigeria’s last standing evening newspaper printed its last edition on Thursday , June 25, 2015, Chukuwudi Iwuchukwu's Blog gathered.

Insider sources say a number of the members of the staff who worked on the print edition will be laid off.

They also say the newspaper owes its staff up to eight months salaries. Sources say no one knows how and when the money will be paid.

P.M. News was founded in 1993 by Bayo Onanuga, Babafemi Ojudu and other former staff.

Onanuga will continue to lead the online version of the daily which is very popular among Nigerians.

The print edition reportedly had a daily circulation of 60,000 copies as at November last year. It sold for N80 as at the last day of its publication.

Fall in newspaper readership and the gravitation of news audiences towards online sources is a major factor responsible for this development.

Besides, websites are very cheap to run compared to the modern printing press.
