Gay Rights Activist Bisi Alimi Marks his 10th Year Living with HIV

Gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi, who achieved notoriety when he became the first Nigerian to come out of the closet on television to declare his Gay status , yesterday marked his 10th year living with HIV.

I went through his wiki page to find out more about him and it says Bisi was diagnosed in 2004, same year he was expelled from University of Lagos and same year he was on Funmi Iyanda's New Dawn talk show on the Nigerian Television Authority where he publicly came out before the nation and asked for acceptance of his Homosexual status  from the public.

While marking the day, Bisi also remembered his best friend, Ibrahim who died of the disease in 2002.
