Photo Of Mum’s Bikini Body Inspires Women Worldwide: “I Wear A Bikini Because I’m Proud Of My Body And Every Mark On It”

There’s nothing better than seeing a photo of woman who’s NOT what society deems perfect but is perfectly happy. Particularly when that woman has had three children.

When author Rachel Hollis posted this bikini photo on Facebook, she probably had no idea that it would spread like wildfire and become such an inspiration to mothers worldwide.

The image, which shows Rachel looking relaxed and happy while in a bikini on the beach, might not be anything groundbreaking – but the caption she put with it is incredibly powerful.

“I have stretch marks and I wear a bikini,” the mum of three wrote. “I have a belly that’s permanently flabby from carrying three giant babies and I wear a bikini. My belly button is saggy… (which is something I didn’t even know was possible before!!) and I wear a bikini.

“I wear a bikini because I’m proud of this body and every mark on it. Those marks prove that I was blessed enough to carry my babies and that flabby tummy means I worked hard to lose what weight I could.”

Warning; if you’re feeling at all emotional, this next section may make you teary…

"I have stretch marks and I wear a bikini. I have a belly that's permanently flabby from carrying three giant babies and I wear a bikini. My belly button is saggy... (which is something I didn't even know was possible before!!) and I wear a bikini. I wear a bikini because I'm proud of this body and every mark on it. Those marks prove that I was blessed enough to carry my babies and that flabby tummy means I worked hard to lose what weight I could. I wear a bikini because the only man who's opinion matters knows what I went through to look this way. That same man says he's never seen anything sexier than my body, marks and all. They aren't scars ladies, they're stripes and you've earned them. Flaunt that body with pride! #HollisHoliday"

While a couple of these inspiring messages and photos have cropped up recently, it’s not everyday that they come along and we only wish we would see more women confident with their post-birth bodies.
