Afe Babalola University Produces 18 First Class Students


No fewer than 18 out of the 103 pioneer graduating students of the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti(ABUAD) are to be conferred with first class honors during the maiden convocation ceremony of the institution.

Addressing a press conference to kick start the week long ceremony in Ade-Ekiti yesterday,  the institution’s vice chancellor, Prof Sidi Osho, said that
former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the deputy director general, United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation(UNESCO), Dr  Lalla Aicha Ben Barka, would be conferred with honors at the event slated for Monday, 21st October, 2013.


The graduating students according to Prof. Oso were drawn from the Colleges of Sciences and  Social  Management  Sciences out of the three colleges the university took off with at inception.
She added that the two eminent personalities were considered for the awards by the university founded by the legal luminary, Chief Afe Babalola(SAN), because of their exemplary characters , hard work and commitment to human development.

While justifying the large number of first class students produced by the institution, Prof. Oso based the achievement on the commitment of the university’s management to quality education and discipline.
