MUMBAI: A 20-year-old Indian student committed suicide at his house in Goregaon (W) on Friday.

The deceased, Amit Dubey, was reportedly depressed with his poor performance in an exam and feared failure. The Goregaon police have found a note in the house that was written by Dubey, stating that no one should be held responsible for his death.
Dubey, son of a former Bajrang Dal leader, was a third-year BSc student at a college in Kandivli. On Friday night, Dubey hanged himself from a ceiling fan. He was alone in the house. When his mother returned, she found the door locked from inside. She knocked on the door, but when Dubey did not open the door, she peeped inside the house and saw her son hanging. She immediately informed the neighbours, who took Dubey to a hospital. He was declared dead on arrival.
The Goregaon police registered an accidental death report and ruled out foul play in the incident. (TNN)
