FINALLY:Study Of IFA Religion Takes Off In Osun State As Parents Kick Against The Policy
It seemed like a cruel joke when at the beginning of this year, Osun state Governor,Rauf Aregbesola announced to bewildered citizens of osun that he planned introducing study of IfA religion into the state's Educational curriculum and he plans making it a compulsory one for students studying in the state owned schools.
The proposal by Rauf raised a lot of dust and concerns especially in the mind of parents who were at loss the benefits of the so called IFA Religion to their children educational development
For readers who may not know what IFA religion stands for, "IFA refers to the traditional system of divination and the verses of the literary corpus known as the Odù Ifá.
Yoruba religion identifies Orunmila as the Grand Priest, as he who revealed Oracle divinity to the world. Such is his association with the Oracle divinity; in some instances, the term "Ọ̀rúnmìlà" is used interchangeably with IFA"
Trust Rauuf and his stubborn nature which is legendary, the governor made good his threat by finally implementing the controversial IFA religious study starting from this new academic year. that started last week in Osun state.
A worried Parents who phoned Chukwudi Iwuchukwu Blog have this to say "My son, I wonder what is wrong with my governor, Rauf Aregbesola. We all thought he was joking when he made mention of this his IFA thing. Please, of what benefit will the plan be to my children or does he want them to be Babalawos" he concluded.
What do you think my lovely readers, do you think 21st Century Osun State Schools needs IFA subject?
