Buhari will return to Nigeria on Thursday morning… and this time Shehu Shagari will be onboard

After spending six days outside the country presumably to rest a bit before the big task ahead, President-elect elect Muhammadu Buhari will return to Nigeria on Thursday morning.
President-elect Muhammadu Buhari will be returning to Nigeria on Thursday morning after a six-day trip to the United Kingdom in the company of former President Shehu Shagari.

When he was travelling to the United Kingdom, the minister of petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, was on the same flight with him, a development which was the cause of several commentaries afterwards.
For his return trip, another public personality will be onboard – Alhaji Shehu Shagari, the ex-president who was overthrown in the coup which brought Buhari to power in 1983.
While in the UK, Buhari met with the Prime minister David Cameron.
However the trip has reportedly been a source of discomfort to party chieftains within Buhari’s party who were unaware of his intention to travel, and those who had hoped to continue lobbying him for roles in his incoming administration.
The British Airways flight bringing the President-elect back to Nigeria is expected to arrive in Abuja around 4 am.
Buhari’s inauguration as Nigeria’s president is on Friday.
