Breaking Times on Monday obtained exclusive images of Ibrahim Coomasie Sarki, a 22-year old son of Daura, Katsina State born Alhaji Ibrahim Coomasie, former Inspector General of Police under the late General Sani Abacha.
Sarki, a student of the Okan University International, Turkey is seen flaunting his obsession for cars, phones, watches and other luxury products acquired by him, his father and his siblings.
In 1993, Sarki’s father, Ibrahim Coomassie was appointed Inspector General of the Nigerian Police by the late General Sani Abacha. Under his tenure as IG of Police, in June 1994, president-elect Moshood Abiola was arrested without warrant and detained by the police. He was mistreated in prison, where he was held for four years before dying in June 1998. Although head of police, Coomassie evaded responsibility for Abiola’s detention.
The Abacha regime is remembered as the most corrupt in the history of Nigeria and billions of dollars were looted from Nigeria’s treasury by Abacha and his cronies. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed that he left over N287 billion in the national treasury, made up of $2 billion, £100 million and N10 billion in cash and property, being the loot recovered from the late dictator, General Sani Abacha.
Coomasie was on Buhari’s list of individuals for the position of National Security Adviser but was dropped on the argument of his age according to media reports. He is currently the Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF).
